The Lamnea Mechanical descaling by reverse bedning, MDRB is suitable for scale breaking of LC-HC wire sizes 5,5 – 12 mm. The MDRB is an in-line cleaner working alone or in combination with an MD8 descaling by brushing, cleans the wire thoroughly before entering the drawing machine.
Lamnea has developed two mechanical descaling by reverse bending, MDRB to suit different wire sizes. The MDRB 5,5 – 8, is suitable to remove scale on wire sizes from 5,5 up to 8 mm. Rod is fed through the MDRB 5,5-8 descaler in a straight line and a manual operated single row ball bearing slewing ring is turned to reverse bend the wire in 4 plains. The more the slewing ring is turned the more the descaling effect increases.
MDRB 5,5 – 12 is suitable to remove scales on wire sizes from 5,5 up to 12 mm. Rod is fed through the MDRB 5,5 . 12 descaler in a straight line and pneumatic cylinders are operated to reverse bend the wire in horizontal and vertical movements. The wire is then hauled through the descaler by the associated drawing machine.
The bending rollers in the machine can be either hardened or recoated with tungsten carbide, or even better a solid tungsten carbide ring that is changeable. The roller bearings utilized in the assembly are double protected by shields and labyrinths
A scale collection container is placed beneath the unit, for an easy removal of the wire scale.
